Laco Deczi & Celula New York
Having spent a lifetime touring the world’s stages, clubs, pubs and anywhere that took his fancy, it’s truly astonishing to see such a phenomenon as Laco Deczi still standing. Especially when you hear and see him perform in the flesh.
Last night at Občanská plovárna’s jam-packed Loop Jazz Club, the incredible age-defying trumpeter delivered a killer show exceeding all expectations –easily ranking it as one of the best gigs on the Prague jazz circuit in recent years.
The legend’s wonderful ability to relate to the audience coupled with a star-studded cast featuring excellent Michal Krasný on bass, keyboardist Jan Aleš and Vaico on percussion made for a fantastic experience. So fantastic in fact that if even if they had gigs lined up for weeks in a row in this city, I think it’s safe to say these guys would be performing to a full house every time.
