James Morrison

James Morrison: Jazz from A to Z

Smetana Hall in Municipal House,

Australian trumpeter and composer (including the music played at the Sydney Olympic Games opening ceremony in 2000), James Morrison is a regular at the Prague Proms. Aside from the trumpet, he also plays the clarinet, trombone, tuba, guitar and piano. However for the Prague Proms show this July, he’ll be bringing along the entire band (W. Morrison - guitar, H. Morrison – bass guitar, P. Danao - percussion), also performing alongside singer Hetty Kate.  The ensemble and the Czech National Symphony Orchestra will be led by conductor Kryštof Marek.
To properly comprehend the successes of 51-year old James Morrison would mean venturing to pretty much all the major concert halls around the world, working with a whole host of top classical and jazz musicians, not to mention the very best orchestras around the world, and then to top it off, paying a visit to Queen Elizabeth II and former US president George W. Bush. Morrison will be crossing oceans and continents to perform for us in Prague so make sure you don’t miss out!
